valuable student aid opportunities to in the field of aviation.
Be sure you meet the requirements before

2002 NBAA Flight Attendant Scholarship

The Flight Attendant Committee of the National
Business Aviation Association (NBAA) is dedicated to promoting education and
training as a means for corporate flight attendants/flight technicians to
enhance their professional careers. To support this position, NBAA offers
aspiring and current flight attendants/flight technicians the opportunity to
receive Flight Attendant Scholarships in conjunction with these corporate
sponsors: AirCare International, Castle Kitchens, FACTS® Training International,
Flight Safety International, Susan C. Friedenberg Corporate Flight Attendant
Training Program, Gulfstream Aerospace, Inflight Excellence, MedAire
Inc., STARK Survival Co. Inc., Survival Systems Training, Inc. and the William
J. von Liebig Foundation.
Sponsors will make the following scholarship
awards available to 21 recipients, who will be selected by the NBAA Flight
Attendants Committee (one item per recipient).
- Four Inflight Emergency Medical and
Defibrillator Training Sessions (AirCare International)
- One Food Safety Training Program – held in
England, airfare and lodging included (Castle Kitchens)
- Two Crewmember Emergency Procedures Training
Sessions – one initial and one recurrent (FACTS® Training International)
- Two initial Flight Attendant Training Sessions

- Two Corporate Flight Attendant Training
Classes (Susan C. Friedenberg Corporate Flight Attendant Training Program)

These scholarships will be awarded by July 1,
2002. They will be redeemable under the conditions established by NBAA, AirCare
International, Castle Kitchens, FACTS® Training International, Flight Safety
International, Susan C. Friedenberg Corporate Flight Attendant Training Program,
Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation, Inflight Excellence, MedAire Inc., STARK
Survival Co. Inc., Survival Systems Training, Inc. and the William J. von Liebig
Foundation, and are limited to a one-time maximum award per person per year.
Scholarship recipients must complete all professional/educational training by
July 31, 2003. Recipients also are responsible for costs associated with the
scholarship, including travel and lodging expenses, unless otherwise noted.
Application forms must be signed and accompanied
by (1) a 600-word or less, typed or neatly printed essay explaining how this
scholarship will help the applicant achieve career goals, (2) two professional
letters of recommendation, and (3) a list of desired awards, ranked in order of
preference. Applications must be received by NBAA on or before April 1, 2002.

2002 IBAA PDP Scholarship (Indiana Business
Aviation Association)
This scholarship fund will offer $1,000 to four
students attending schools with PDP approved curriculum. The IBAA is dedicated
to the goal to further safety, convenience, advancement and economy of business
aviation. A list of participating schools can be found below. Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race,
religion, or national origin.
To be eligible for the IBAA PDP scholarship, a
student must be (1) a U.S. citizen and (2) at the time of application must be
officially enrolled for the 2000/2001 academic year at an NBAA- and University
Aviation Association (UAA)-Member institution in an aviation-related program
(see list below), (3) the applicant must be an
undergraduate sophomore, junior or senior in the 2000/2001 academic year
enrolled in an aviation-related two-year, four-year, or postgraduate degree
program that incorporates the NBAA PDP, (4) applicant must have a cumulative
grade point average (g.p.a.) of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale.
Application forms must be accompanied by (1) an
official transcript from the applicant’s college or university, (2) a 250-word,
typed, double-spaced essay describing the applicant’s goals for a career in the
business aviation flight department, (3) a letter of recommendation from a
member of the aviation department faculty at the institution in which the
applicant currently is enrolled, and (4) a resume. Proof of enrollment also must
be provided prior to distribution of the award. A letter of recommendation from
an NBAA Member Company representative is encouraged but not required.
Completed application and required documents must
be postmarked no later than August 22, 2002, to be considered for the
scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded in fall 2002 and checks will be made

2002 NBAA International Operators Scholarship
The NBAA International Operators Committee is
dedicated to promoting education and training as a means for individuals to
increase the safety and professionalism of their positions. To further this
objective, NBAA offers the 2002 International Operators Scholarship in
conjunction with corporate sponsor ExxonMobil Aviation and the Avitats, which
will offer a total of $5,000 in scholarship awards to one or more recipients.
This scholarship will be awarded at the 29th Annual International Operators
Conference in March 2002. The Scholarship, which includes free registration to
the Conference, will be redeemable under the conditions established by the NBAA
International Operators Committee and ExxonMobil Aviation and the Avitats.
Application forms must be accompanied by (1) a
typed or neatly printed 500-word essay explaining how this scholarship will help
the applicant achieve his or her international aviation career goals, (2) a
statement of the amount of funds required to achieve these goals, and (3) at
least one professional letter of recommendation, preferably from an NBAA Member
Company employee.
Applications must be received by NBAA on or
before January 31, 2002.

2002 NBAA Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation
Scholarship
The Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship was
created in 2001 by the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) and the
family and friends of the late Lawrence Ginocchio to honor his outstanding
personal contribution to the business aviation community.
Named for a remarkable man whose strength of
character inspired a high standard of caring in the aviation community, the
Lawrence Ginocchio Aviation Scholarship recognizes those individuals who have
demonstrated honesty, integrity and selflessness in their dealings with others.
These individuals should possess a passion for aviation, as Larry Ginocchio did,
and have utilized their interest or involvement in business aviation to enhance
the lives of others.
NBAA and the family and friends of Lawrence
Ginocchio will annually award five scholarships, each worth $5,000, to students
who are officially enrolled at NBAA/University Aviation Association (UAA)-member
institutions. All completed applications and required documents must be
postmarked no later than August 22, 2002, to be considered. Scholarships will be
awarded in the fall of 2002 and checks will be made payable to the school.
Awards will be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion, or
national origin.

must be provided prior to distribution of the award. A letter of recommendation
from an NBAA Member Company Representative is encouraged, but not required. In
the letters, emphasis should be given to the applicant’s outside interests,
strength of character, and volunteer activities.

Scholarship
NBAA annually awards five $1,000 scholarships to
undergraduates who are studying aviation-related curricula. Awards will be made

must be a U.S. citizen and must be officially enrolled at an NBAA and University

250-word, typed, double-spaced essay describing the applicant’s interest and
goals for a career in the business aviation industry, (3) a letter of
recommendation from a member of the aviation department faculty at the
institution in which the applicant currently is enrolled, and (4) a resume that
includes a permanent home address.
Completed application and required documents must
be postmarked no later than November 1, 2002, to be considered for the
scholarship. Scholarships will be awarded in spring 2003 and checks will be made
payable to the school. The five finalists also will receive complimentary
registration to the NBAA 55th Annual Meeting & Convention, to be held in Orlando
in September 2002.

The U.S. Aircraft Insurance Group (USAIG)
annually awards three $1,000 scholarships to applicants who are enrolled

2002 William M. Fanning Maintenance Scholarship
The National Business Aviation Association
annually awards two $2,500 scholarships to applicants who are pursuing careers
as maintenance technicians. One award will benefit a student who currently is
enrolled in an accredited airframe & powerplant (A&P) program at an approved FAR
Part 147 school. The second award will benefit an individual who currently is
not enrolled but has been accepted for enrollment in an A&P program. Awards will
be made to U.S. citizens without regard to sex, race, religion, or national
origin.
To be eligible for the Fanning Maintenance
Scholarship, a student must be (1) a U.S. citizen and (2) at the time of
application must be officially enrolled in an accredited A&P program, or have
been accepted for enrollment by an approved FAR Part 147 school. Proof of
enrollment or acceptance of enrollment, such as an official transcript or letter
of acceptance, must be provided prior to the distribution of the award.
Application forms must be accompanied by (1) an
official transcript from the applicant’s program or school, (2) a 250-word,
typed, double-spaced essay describing the applicant’s interest in and goals for
a career in the aviation maintenance field, (3) a letter of recommendation from
either a faculty member or other individual who is familiar with the applicant’s
